  • Plate with roasted chicken leg, fries, and sautéed spinach on a marble background.

    Meat & Poultry

The protein is frequently the centerpiece of many entrées. I tend to build the rest of a dish based around the main protein and its pairings. Tofu is a wonderful non-meat substitute.

  • Grilled salmon with dill, lemon slices, and seasoned rice on a white plate.

    Seafood

Three seafoods that you will see me cook a lot: salmon, shrimp, and scallops. What can I say? I live in a landlocked state and these are three seafoods that are always available and generally solid-quality.

  • Bowl of macaroni and cheese topped with lobster and green onions on a marble surface.

    Pasta & Noodles

Carbs. Who doesn’t like ‘em? Pasta dishes are extremely versatile because they can be simple or complex. In my opinion, simplicity usually wins in this category.

  • Soups & Stews

Do you enjoy soups and stews year-round or are you just a seasonal soup fan? I love soup 365 days of the year. This is also the perfect way to use up stuff that has accumulated in your fridge and freezer.

  • A close-up of a wrapped sandwich cut in half, featuring ground beef patty, lettuce, tomato, and melted cheese. Potato chips are visible on the side.

    Sandwiches & Tacos

I am not the only person that is always wanting to shove a sandwich or taco in their face, right? There is just something about the convenience of handheld foods.

  • Struggle & Minute Meals

We all have our favorite “struggle meals”. They are nostalgic, but meals we still love to make in a pinch. They are fast. Super easy and inexpensive. Oh, and delicious.
